About Us
My Story
I am Cam. I am a father of two boys, a husband, a karateka, a sailor, a chess player and a movie buff. I also happen to use a wheelchair and crutches, which means that when I say I understand what it is like to navigate a world that was not always designed with you in mind. I have lived experience at living with a disability, where I have overcome many challenges.
I have spent over 20 years working with people who need a fair go, people with disabilities, at-risk young people, adults navigating tertiary education, families under pressure, teenagers who felt invisible. I currently work part time as a guidance counsellor at Riccarton High School and as a reliever at St Andrews College. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling from the University of Canterbury (2023), a Postgraduate Certificate in Counselling Studies (2021), and a Post Graduate Diploma of Teaching and Learning. I am a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and I am WINZ registered. For more information click here.
